Jamie Ferguson and Kinga Skretkowicz-Ferguson visited two orphanages in Lodz this December.
They purchased gifts for both homes. The first home they visited was an institution for small children located on Lniana street # 9 in Lodz. They purchased 3 photo cameras, 12 color film rolls, 2 packages of disposable diapers and a CD with children's stories. Here is a photo of two little girls getting their picture taken for the adoption album that this orphanage is compiling.
Malych Dzieci is an orphanage for younger children from infancy up to 7
years of age.
The photo cameras were purchased in order to compile an album to be available to show families interested in adopting these youngsters.

The second home they visited is located on Pawilonska street # 2/4 also in Lodz. There they purchased a sofa for the play/study room where the children spend a lot of their time. Here are photos from their visit including drawings the children made for Kinga and Jamie.
Pogotowie Opjekuncze Nr.2 in Lodz is a temporary home where children are
brought first before they are assigned to an orphanage. There are usually
30 children between 3 and 12 years of age staying there for up to 6 months
at a time. During their stay the children attend school and are evaluated
by teachers and psychologists before a permanent situation is established.
It is very important to make the children feel safe during their stay. Buying a couch for the play/study room is part of an ongoing effort to create a warm family atmosphere for the children at Pogotowie Opjekuncze Nr. 2.
